"Thank-you"

By Rose Holman

Thank-you for loving me even when my heart was hard.

Thank-you for giving me what I couldn't earn.

Thank-you for sending me what I couldn't ask for.

Thank-you for listening even when I couldn't speak.

Thank-you for chasing me even when I was running from you.

Thank-you for seeking me even when I wanted nothing to do with you.

Thank-you.

"To Save the World"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

~

So sorry to tell you that

in fact,

You cannot save the world,

nor the souls who dwell it it.

Jesus does the saving,

but even then, don't be praying

that this planet will be saved.

Sorry, but it's fact

That this world is coming to an end.

Now of course, if it's going bye-bye,

then all the lost shall forever die.

Whilst the saved shall sing to the King,

and life shall forever ring.

In an everlasting paradise,

WONDERFUL,PEACEFUL,(PRECISE!).

don't try to 'save the earth,'

when it's coming to an end.

Just take care of it while it's here

Follow God and don't you fear!

"I Am"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

I am the your creator;

Your father

who’s with you all the time.

You may reject me, my rules for life;

But I love you despite your sin.

You are mine.

Why do you run from my embrace?

When I gave you amazing grace?

I, know everything.. Even why.

I am who I am;

I chose the colors in each rainbow.

I painted your evening sky.

Jesus Christ

Is my precious son.

Though I loved him so much,

So that you could live eternally, I sent him to die.

For you,

I am who I am sent his son.

So’d you could live, that why.

I am who I am.

 "Simple and Sweet"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

Simple and sweet

is the very best treat.

Simple

mayn’t be fancied so,

but it can be far better than Fancy things, I know!

Sweet

isn’t just mint chocolate chip ice cream.

It’s the heart that is loving, gentle, humbly seamed.

Simple ain’t just for Amish folk.

It’s not wanting to stand far out in the crowd,

or being crude and loud.

It’s being feminine and meek,

slow to anger,

slow to speak.

Simple and Sweet

is the very best treat.

For to tell you the truth,

a big, fancy dessert doesn’t compare

to a nice little treat that’s simple and sweet.

"Only God'

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

Days when I wonder,
How could it all be true.
Days when I ponder,
How He parted the seas of blue.
Oh, How can one do such things?
How one can make voices to sing?

Only God can,
Only God.

The times when I fell,
He caught me.
The times when I was not well,
Made me better, did He.
No earthly treasures, people or things,
can do what Our Creator can do.

Only God can,
Only God.

When I am all alone,
I know that he is there.
Cause He is on His throne,
And I know He really cares!
Oh, to know that the creator of the universe
Loves me!

Only God can,
Only God.

"Forever a princess"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

I’m a daughter of the Lord

I’m a child of the king

I will lift my voice and sing,

for I’m a daughter of the king!

I’m a princess?

I’m a princess!

For my father is the king of kings

and that makes me a princess!

They may say I’m not royal

because I look normal

and all because I don’t wear heaps of jewels and gold.

For truly, my treasure is in heaven, the greatest ever told!

It shall never fade or get old,

like the treasures of earth rust and mold.

But my treasure shall never get old.

I’m a princess,

A gifted daughter of Yahweh.

I’m a princess,

A child of the king of kings

even though they say to me,

you are not of royalty,

And it is all mockery,

but if only they knew.

They say I’m no princess

cause there’s no glimpse

of it being so.

But they’ll never know.

I’ll be forever a princess!

Forever a princess!

How happy it is!

That I’ll live with the king of kings forever

and ever.

  "The last shall be first"
By Leah Kathryn Oxendine
~

There was once a young girl named Mag.

She was treated like a old beggar hag.

She had no friends, except for one..

He’s the Father, the Holy spirit, and Son.

Mag was indeed poor,

for she begged all day.

And this is what most people would say

"Get lost! You’ll never get any pay."

But indeed she did, for that night she died.

Not a single person was sad or cried.

. Now there was also a rich man named Treed.

He lived for his gold and greed.

Every time there was free dinner or gold,

He took every thing that Could be sold.

And other times, he would come and say,

"I will go first, and I want my way!!"

He always did, until the day he died.

And when he did, everyone cried.

But he did not know Jesus, nor did he care.

A few little crumbs was all he would spare.

Then when it came time for the judgement day, Mag was first and then she began to say.

"Oh thank you dear Lord! I bless your name!"

She fell at God’s feet,

And she was let into Heaven,

All her family she’d greet.

But when it came time for old greedy Treed,

All he did was think about money and grow did his greed.

But he was doomed for he did not know the Lord.

And then he realized that it was true.

Money was all he ever knew

"I'll suffer for You."

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

Tonight's the night I take wings and fly.
Tonight's the night I know I will die.

The people are coming to take me away.
I may not see the sunset on tomarrows day.
But it dosn't matter, I'm gonna die for my Lord.

Yes, it doesn't matter, I'll be at Heaven's door.
He is waiting for me, and I'm waiting for him.
I am writing though this light is dim.
They say my future looks pretty grim.
But what awaits me makes me want to grin.
I'll never ever suffer, after this night.

I'll be With Jesus, So, go away you silly fright.
Why would I worry? There's nothing to fear.
Jesus will hold me close and near.
I only worry for me dear friends,
My family, and those who said our love would never end.
I pray for those who are lost.
I thank Jesus for paying the cost!

Thank you Lord! Oh my God, take me home.
I know I'm not all alone.
I'll suffer for you. I'll suffer for you.
They will be here soon,
But I'll still suffer for you.

"Adelle"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

There once was a girl named Adelle.

She was very pretty, with golden hair.

But was she a Christian? No one could tell.

Now Adelle was a beauty, that’s what the people said.

She always wore a scarlet gown of the brightest red.

One day however, she was walking along;

And she heard the most horrible song.

She covered her ears, then hurried ‘round the corner,

to see who it might be.

Then when she saw who it was, she gasped and said

" Oh my, Oh Me!’

For It was the handsomest prince she’d ever seen.

He stood proud and tall,

dressed as if he was ‘bout to head off to a ball.

When Adelle realized what she’d done,

She sighed and thought she’d cover it up.

"Oh fair Prince, where going, thee?"

"I am off to a ball to be filled with glee."

"Would you take, a girl such as me?"

"I would, quite happily.."

"Then off we go.. Twee-dee-twee-da."

"But I don’t know you truly love me.

"You judged me for something I was not.

As if I were a little snot."

The prince sadly smiled then went off with his true girl,

And Adelle pushed away a golden curl.

She sadly looked after her gone ‘love,’

then walked off just like a captured dove.

"Our country's freedom"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

 Stripes of red on a flag that’s free;

It waves, and it waves, and it’s meaning I see.

Our country is freedom,

cause’ of our brave men who fought:

They fought for freedom witch they so dearly sought.

for freedom can only be bought.

America, a country that’s free;

America, a temporary home for me.

Fifty stars representing our fine states;

Each one with unique different traits.

Thank you Yahweh, for making our country free!

Your grace, Yahweh is the greatest I see.

Thank you Lord for making our Country free.

k God Bless America! The home of the brave!k

"My Home"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

~

My home is not in this place..

My heart begins a final race..

I'm on a long vaction.. till Jesus comes again..

Till' Jesus comes again.

My heart beats fast when I hear his name,

Cause' I will never be the same.

Whenever I hear his name, My soul shouts with joy.

In Heaven, my home shall be gold..

and more lovely that any tale ever told..

for this is no tale..

this is no tale.

"True Love"

by Leah Kathryn Oxendine

My skin is burned.
All hope is lost.

My eyes are hot.
My heart is frost.
My love is gone,

My heart of stone.
My friends have left me all alone.
Who shall save me? Who hears me frett?
Tis' Jesus who pays my dept.
For death was destiny for my soul.
Tis' Jesus who's love is the greatest ever known.

  "True Perfection"

By Leah Kathryn Oxendine

Don't look at me..

I'm an rotton inperfect wretch.

Don't look at me..

I'm not who you want to be..

Don't talk to me..

Talk to me today;

I'll probably just turn away.

A sorry sight you say?

Well maybe it's true..

You don't have to answer,

you don't have to ponder this question..

WHAT CAN I DO TO GAIN FREEDOM?
Guess I need Jesus..

Oh, tis' true...

Cause' now I have Jesus..

I'll follow him the whole way through.
